Senior Software Development Engineer in Test Introduction: We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with object-oriented Python experience to join the XenServer System Quality team. Responsibilities include collaborating with quality managers, leads, the release team, and developers to define and execute automated and manual testing for XenServer\’s features. About XenServer: XenServer is a commercial virtualization platform based on the open-source Xen hypervisor, supporting deployments from government to large-scale cloud environments. What we are looking for: A curious software/QA engineer passionate about understanding system internals and solving complex problems. You should have a strong desire to learn, good communication skills, and experience with the software development lifecycle, operating systems, and proficient in object-oriented Python. Experience in agile environments, networking, enterprise storage, and virtualization is essential. Familiarity with Linux, Windows, CI/CD tools, and cloud technologies like Azure is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain automated/manual test scripts in Python. Enhance and maintain automated test assets. Participate in code reviews. Collaborate with development teams on bug fixes and new features. Analyze requirements and monitor testing progress. Triaging test failures and reporting defects. Drive QA standards and process improvements. Required Experience / Skills: Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years programming in object-oriented Python. Deep knowledge of Linux and Windows OS. Understanding of various testing methodologies. Knowledge of networking protocols and enterprise storage solutions. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude. Exposure to CI/CD, Jenkins, VMs, and cloud platforms like Azure is desirable.
