We are supporting a well-established construction/civil engineering/infrastructure organisation who are expanding their commercial team and require a Senior Quantity Surveyor capable of owning the financial performance of multiple projects across the region.
This role is ideal for someone who is currently working as a Quantity Surveyor and looking for a step up, thrives in a fast-paced, programme-driven environment, and wants the autonomy to make a genuine commercial impact.
You’ll be joining a respected contractor delivering essential works across water, power, telecoms, and wider civils infrastructure. The business continues to grow, offering stability, progression, and exposure to major frameworks.
The Job
As Senior QS, you will take responsibility for end-to-end cost management, commercial reporting, contract compliance, and client interaction across multiple live schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial control across utility infrastructure projects, ensuring strong cost management from tender through to final account.
- Carry out accurate Take-Offs, prepare cost estimates and support budgeting activity.
- Produce valuations, variations and contractual documentation.
- Support procurement and subcontractor selection, ensuring value and compliance.
- Monitor project progress, maintain accurate financial forecasts and deliver reports to senior leadership.
- Negotiate contracts and build positive client relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with NEC/JCT contract requirements and industry regulations.
- Conduct final accounts and project close-out reviews.
What you need
- Strong background in Utilities (water, power, telecoms, gas) or Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience in Take-Offs, measurement and cost control.
- Solid understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
- Confident commercially, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar.
- UK driving licence essential.
- Professional membership (RICS/ICES) beneficial but not required.
