We\’re supporting a well-established construction contractor in the South East who are looking to appoint an
Operationally-focused Contracts Manager
to oversee multiple live projects across a range of sectors.

This role would suit someone with a strong site/project delivery background who has progressed into managing several schemes at once, with the commercial awareness needed to ensure each project runs smoothly, safely, on time and within budget.

The Role

As a Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of live construction projects, ensuring each one meets programme, quality and client expectations. You\’ll act as the key link between the client, operational teams and commercial functions, driving delivery while maintaining strong relationships and professional communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing several live projects simultaneously across refurb, fit-out, residential or commercial sectors
• Leading Site Managers, supervisors and operational teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery
• Managing programmes, sequencing and resource planning
• Ensuring quality standards, H&S compliance and project governance
• Providing strong client liaison and attending progress meetings
• Supporting commercial teams with variations, budgets, cost awareness and contractual compliance
• Identifying risks, resolving issues and driving projects to completion

What We\’re Looking For

• Strong operational delivery background within construction (Site Manager → Project Manager → CM pathway)
• Ability to run multiple projects at once
• Good commercial awareness (variations, budgets, cost implications, compliance)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and leadership ability
• Experience with main contractors or specialist subcontractors
• SMSTS and relevant construction training/qualifications
