Our client is a well-established, family-owned construction business based in Dagenham. Due to an ongoing business restructure, they are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a fully office-based role and offers genuine long-term progression opportunities for the right individual as the finance function continues to develop and evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Responsibility for statutory reporting and supporting year-end accounts
  • Cashflow analysis, forecasting, and ongoing working capital management
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Oversight and day-to-day management of a team of four finance staff
  • Supervision of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Close collaboration with commercial and trading teams to support business performance and decision-making
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support senior management during the restructure period

Skills & Experience Required

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or finalist
  • Strong Excel skills (advanced level)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance or management accounting role within an SME environment
  • Previous experience within construction or a similar project-based business would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
