An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a dynamic recruitment group based in London. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business, ensuring strong financial control, and driving efficiency in reporting and processes. Managing a team of two direct reports, along with several indirect reports, you will play a pivotal role in financial planning and decision-making.
You must have recent, relevant recruitment sector experience.
Duties:
- Cashflow Management: Oversee and maintain accurate short-term and long-term cashflow forecasting to ensure financial stability.
- Balance Sheet & Reporting: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Monthly Management Accounts: Supervise the production of management accounts, providing insight and analysis to senior leadership.
- Treasury Management: Monitor and manage financial assets, liabilities, and overall liquidity.
- Purchase Ledger & Financial Transactions: Ensure efficient processing of invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Year-End Process: Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements, working closely with external auditors.
- Compliance & Controls: Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Leadership & Development: Mentor and support direct reports, driving professional growth and team efficiency.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in financial reporting, cashflow management, and treasury functions.
- Experience in recruitment or professional services is essential.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a small finance team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
