Our client is a rapidly growing business based in East London, seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Payroller with strong exposure to tax, audits, and payroll. This position is ideal for someone with broad bookkeeping experience within SME environments who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced setting. This Bookkeeper / Payroller position is full time office based.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate data from multiple accounting systems to prepare journals, VAT returns, and national statistics reports.
- Calculate tax payments on accounts and manage fixed asset depreciation.
- Support audit preparation, including compiling and maintaining audit packs.
- Manage end-to-end payroll (weekly and monthly), including submissions of P60s, P11Ds, and P46s.
- Handle new starter and leaver processes, and act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries.
Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within SMEs.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, VAT, and tax reporting.
- Confident using multiple accounting systems and working to tight deadlines.
