Xelix is a fast-paced scale-up - things move fast and expectations are high. We raised our Series B with Insight Partners in June 2025 and are expanding aggressively, whilst remaining profitable. We have over 100 talented people pulling together to achieve our goals. Everyone is trusted to take ownership, move fast and have a meaningful impact. We prioritise personal and professional growth, keep things fun & we love to celebrate a milestone together. In this role you’ll grow, be challenged and help shape the future of Xelix. If you’re excited about building something special with us, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

As a Mid-level Product Designer at Xelix, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to deliver functional, user-friendly, and impactful products. You will contribute to shaping the user experience across our platform, ensuring designs are grounded in user needs and align with our product vision. This role is ideal for a designer who has solid experience shipping product work, is confident across the design process, and is ready to grow into greater ownership and responsibility.

What you'll be doing

  • Design execution: Take ownership of design tasks from discovery to delivery, including wireframes, flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure solutions are usable, accessible, and visually consistent with our design system. Collaborate with engineers to refine implementation and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • User research & insight: Contribute to planning and running user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions. Translate findings into actionable insights and iterate on designs based on evidence. Champion a user-centered approach, ensuring decisions are informed by user needs and data.
  • Collaboration & communication: Partner with product managers to understand requirements, priorities, and constraints. Work closely with engineers to address technical feasibility and refine designs. Clearly communicate design rationale and facilitate workshops with stakeholders, contributing to alignment across teams.
  • Design systems & consistency: Apply and extend our design system to ensure a cohesive and scalable product experience. Contribute to documentation and help evolve shared patterns and standards.
  • Continuous growth: Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and best practices. Proactively seek feedback and contribute to team critiques. Take opportunities to learn from senior colleagues and gradually build leadership skills.

What you’ll bring

We care more about mindset and craft than ticking every box. If you meet most of the requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you.

  • Education & experience: 2-4 years of experience in product design with a portfolio showcasing user-centered, high-quality product work. Experience working on cross-functional projects from concept through to delivery. Exposure to planning or participating in research and usability testing.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma). Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and design systems. Awareness of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how designs translate into code.
  • Soft skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain design rationale. Problem-solving mindset and comfort with ambiguity. Proactive, adaptable, and eager to grow your craft and influence.
  • Big plus points: Curiosity to learn new domains and rapidly build product understanding. Understanding of finance and accounting basics. Experience working in fast-moving environments (scale-up, start-up, or agency). Interest in building broad product design skills across research, interaction, and visual design. Comfort experimenting with new tools and workflows.
