The Director (UK Tax – Owner Managed Businesses) is a senior leadership role focused on delivering strategic tax advisory and compliance services to OMB clients. This role requires deep expertise in UK tax, with a particular emphasis on advising business owners, shareholders, and entrepreneurs across the full business lifecycle. The Director will support clients with structuring, profit extraction, succession planning, and exit strategies, ensuring tax efficiency while maintaining full compliance with UK legislation. They will act as a trusted advisor, providing commercially focused solutions that align with clients’ personal and business objectives. As a leader within the organisation, the Director will drive growth in the OMB client portfolio, champion technical excellence, and foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture aligned with Xeinadin’s values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement strategies to grow the OMB client base, increasing revenue and profitability across tax advisory and compliance services.
  • Act as a lead advisor to OMB clients, providing strategic guidance on business structuring, incorporation, shareholder arrangements, and group reorganisations.
  • Advise on profit extraction strategies, including salary, dividends, and other tax‑efficient remuneration planning.
  • Provide expert guidance on succession planning, including inheritance tax (IHT) planning, trusts, and wealth preservation strategies.
  • Support business owners through transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and management buyouts, ensuring tax‑efficient structuring.
  • Deliver tax advice on exit planning, including Business Asset Disposal Relief (BADR) and other relevant UK reliefs.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, and related filings, ensuring full compliance with UK tax legislation.
  • Ensure all work aligns with current guidance from HM Revenue & Customs and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Perform final technical reviews of complex tax computations, advisory reports, and planning structures.
  • Monitor UK tax legislative changes and proactively advise clients on implications and planning opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with OMB clients, acting as their primary trusted advisor.
  • Identify cross‑selling opportunities across accounting, audit, and advisory services to enhance client value.
  • Actively contribute to business development, including networking, referrals, and identifying new OMB opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing tax team, ensuring strong technical capability and client service delivery.
  • Set clear performance objectives and ensure accountability across the team.
  • Drive efficiency through the use of technology, including compliance with Making Tax Digital requirements.
  • Manage a portfolio of OMB clients, with responsibility for generating up to £1M in annual revenue.
  • Monitor billing performance, recoverability, and utilisation, taking corrective action where required.
  • Ensure robust risk management processes are in place, particularly in relation to tax planning and advisory work.
  • Share OMB tax expertise and best practices across the wider Hub and Group.
  • Focus on owner‑managed businesses, entrepreneurs, and private clients, including SMEs and family‑owned businesses.
