As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will assist the Client Manager with their portfolio of limited company clients. You will be responsible for managing your own time, clients, and workload, including scheduling your own flexible diary.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting the Client Manager with their portfolio of limited company clients.
- Both office-based work and on-site bookkeeping at client premises.
- Handling purchase and sales ledger tasks, raising and entering invoices in accounting software.
- Conducting bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including liaising with clients regarding queries and obtaining approval.
- Preparing and posting journals for payroll, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, etc.
- Assisting in the production of annual accounts where required.
- Building strong, lasting relationships with a large variety of clients.
- Seeking the best use of accounting software and apps to make our clients' lives easier and help their businesses thrive.
- Liaising with your Client Manager to provide advice and recommendations regarding your portfolio of bookkeeping clients.
- Offering suggestions for improvements of bookkeeping processes.
- Ensuring the ability to meet strict HMRC deadlines.
- Fully qualified AAT or qualified by experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Ideally, with a background in an accountancy practice.
- Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Dext.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to use initiative while maintaining confidentiality.
