What will you be doing?
As the Technical Head of Rail for XEIAD, part of BES Infrastructure, you will be the technical lead for all rail works, championing technical excellence, quality and innovation across the business. You will shape and deliver our consulting services to enhance technical capability, support growth ambitions and ensure alignment with our wider business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Act as XEIAD’s technical expert for rail, providing direction, leadership and guidance to internal technical and operational teams, managers, clients and suppliers.
- Undertake on-call duties as On Call Duty Manager (OCDM) as required.
- Undertake the role of Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (Engineering) and support Rail Examination Contracts, including reviewing and communicating changes to standards and contract requirements.
- Support, mentor and develop team members, promoting professional development and high performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with Rail organisations and suppliers, ensuring accurate technical communication and progress reporting.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team to shape and deliver the Rail business plan.

To join our team, you will need:
- Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer in Civil or Structures Engineering, and member of an appropriate professional body.
- Hold a valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) competency.
- Experience in managing stakeholders including clients, suppliers and consultants.
- Demonstrable railway industry experience in structures examination, maintenance or assessment.
- Experienced in leading the application of competency management.
- Strong IT skills including proficiency across the full Microsoft Office suite.
