Responsibilities

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor for XEIAD, part of BES Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the commercial administration and management of assigned contracts. Leading by example, you will encourage positive contract management and commercial behaviours throughout the operational delivery teams leading to ongoing improvements in delivery performance and profitability.

  • Processing sub-contractor and supplier accounts in line with sub-contract timescales.
  • Managing the payment of sub-contractor invoices and processing of certificates in accordance with timescales specified in contract.
  • Preparing application for payments and invoices for allocated contracts, supporting timely submissions in line with client expectations and ensuring that all fees are agreed quickly and any issues are dealt with promptly.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of pricing and costing of annual contract workbanks, and any additional works associated with the contract.
  • Providing regular commercial reports and supporting the preparation of weekly P&L accounts, working with colleagues to highlight any issues and to invoke any mitigating actions.
  • Maximising strategic supply chain value through structured procurement processes and ongoing supplier engagement.
  • Supporting pre-contract negotiations ensuring that an optimal position is reached for all parties.
  • Managing a small Commercial Team with line management responsibility ensuring team cohesion through positive engagement and ongoing professional development.

Requirements
  • Minimum Level 5 qualification in Business Management, Quantity Surveying or Finance
  • Substantial experience in Finance, Commercial or Contract Management
  • Knowledge of supply chain procurement processes including appointment and management of multiple delivery partners
  • Familiarity with Finance systems (experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O desirable)
  • Experience submitting Application for Payments and processing monthly CVRs.
  • Chartered Member of RICS is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience working in the Rail industry (desirable).
  • UK Driving License
