Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plumbing Lecturer to join our team in Nottinghamshire on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and practical training across a range of plumbing programmes, supporting learners to achieve industry-recognised qualifications and progress into employment or further study.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Plumbing
  • Teach both theoretical knowledge and practical plumbing skills
  • Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and support learner progress, attendance, and achievement
  • Maintain accurate records in line with awarding body and quality requirements
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and quality standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Act as a course tutor where required, providing academic and pastoral support

Essential Requirements

  • Experience teaching or training in an educational setting (e.g. FE college, training provider, apprenticeships)
  • Significant industry experience in Plumbing
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one, such as:
  • PGCE or Cert Ed
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
  • Relevant industry qualifications, including:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current plumbing standards, regulations, and best practice
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable

    • Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes
    • Assessor and / or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications (A1 / CAVA, TAQA, IQA)
    • Gas qualifications (where applicable)
    • Experience working with awarding bodies and quality frameworks
