An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional to join a well‑established engineering training provider delivering apprenticeship and commercial training programmes across the region. This role would suit an industry professional looking to transition into education and training, sharing their knowledge and experience with the next generation of engineers. Previous teaching or assessing experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
The Role: Based at a modern training centre in Hull, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality practical and theoretical engineering training to apprentices and commercial learners, helping them develop the technical skills required for successful careers within the engineering sector.
Essential Experience:
- Mechanical planned and reactive maintenance
- Lathe and milling machine operation
- Safe use of hand tools
- Hydraulics and/or pneumatics
- Health and safety procedures and best practices
Desirable Experience:
- Chemical process industry knowledge
- CAD experience
- Previous teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
