We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes for 16–19 learners and adult students within a Further Education setting. The successful candidate will support learners studying Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications, helping them develop both practical trade skills and underpinning theoretical knowledge to prepare for employment or progression within the electrical industry. This role would suit either an experienced FE Lecturer or an industry-qualified electrician looking to transition into education and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons in Electrical Installation.
  • Teach across a range of qualifications including City & Guilds, EAL, T Levels or apprenticeship standards.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment materials.
  • Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Track learner attendance, progress, achievement, and behaviour.
  • Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and progression opportunities.
  • Maintain workshop environments, tools, and equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Carry out tutorial responsibilities and provide pastoral support where required.
  • Participate in internal verification, standardisation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and comply with funding and compliance requirements.
  • Support preparation for Ofsted inspections and awarding body visits.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, Prevent, and British Values within teaching practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Industry experience within Electrical Installation.
  • Relevant Electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Current industry knowledge and understanding of electrical regulations.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners aged 16–19.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and learner success.

Desirable Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or equivalent).
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
  • Experience teaching within Further Education.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Inspection & Testing qualifications.
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships or T Levels.
  • Knowledge of awarding bodies including City & Guilds and EAL.
