We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students within a Further Education setting. The successful candidate will prepare learners for careers in the electrical industry by delivering practical and theoretical training aligned with industry standards and awarding body requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons across Electrical Installation programmes (e.g. Level 1–3, Apprenticeships, or T Levels as applicable)
  • Teach both practical workshop sessions and theoretical classroom-based lessons
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body and curriculum requirements (e.g. City & Guilds, EAL)
  • Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and support achievement and progression
  • Maintain a safe learning environment in line with Health & Safety regulations
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Support learners with varying needs, including those requiring additional learning support
  • Carry out administrative duties including lesson planning, marking, and learner records
  • Engage in CPD to keep teaching practice and industry knowledge up to date

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification or above in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • Significant industry experience as a qualified electrician
  • Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations (e.g. BS 7671)
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners aged 16–19 and adult learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification (if not already held)

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent)
  • Assessing and/or Internal Verifier qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a Further Education or training environment
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships
