We are recruiting on behalf of an alternative education provider in East Sutton for a Catering Tutor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a passionate and practical Catering Tutor who enjoys working with adult learners in an alternative provision setting. You will support learners to develop essential catering and food preparation skills, gain relevant qualifications, and build confidence for future employment within the hospitality industry.
The Role
- Deliver practical and theory-based Catering / Hospitality sessions to adult learners
- Support learners working towards vocational catering qualifications
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to a range of abilities and learning needs
- Promote safe working practices, food hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and motivating learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievement
- Work collaboratively with the wider education and support teams
- Uphold safeguarding and compliance requirements at all times
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working in catering, hospitality, or professional kitchens
- Experience teaching or training adults (desirable but not essential)
- Understanding of vocational education and learner progression
- Ability to engage and motivate learners who may face barriers to education
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen practices
- Teaching qualification desirable (or willingness to work towards one)
