We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Chelmsford.

Position Details:

  • Location: Chelmsford, Essex
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Salary: £14 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • SEND Coaching: Assist learners in developing independence, communication skills, and decision-making abilities both within and outside the classroom.
  • Academic Support: Provide tailored support to students, ensuring they have opportunities to work towards outcomes in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Personal Care Assistance: Support students with mobility, personal care, and moving and handling as required.
  • Staff Training: Collaborate with staff to enhance understanding of SEND needs, including participating in training sessions and communicating effectively with curriculum and support teams.

Essential Criteria:

  • Understanding of how individuals learn and the ability to adapt support accordingly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to work with young people and adults with SEND.
  • Good organizational skills, including maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience working with individuals with SEND.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs.

Additional Information:

  • All candidates will be required to undertake relevant training and professional development as needed.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service is preferred.
