About the Role:
This is a hands-on and varied role designed to support the ongoing improvement of compliance and care across all homes. You'll be instrumental in ensuring quality standards are consistently met or exceeded, supporting audits, staff development, and taking a proactive approach to solving compliance issues in underperforming services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly internal compliance reports for each home
- Assist with audits and CQC inspection preparations
- Support with complaints and safeguarding investigations
- Monitor and manage clinical metrics (e.g. falls, pressure ulcers, DoLS)
- Train and develop Deputies, Team Leaders, and Senior Carers
- Participate in the on-call rota (approximately every third weekend)
- Provide in-person support to homes that require improvement—this includes staying away from home on some weeks
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager (or similar) in an elderly care home
- At least 1 year’s experience in staff training (e.g. train-the-trainer for manual handling, medication, etc.)
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (with willingness to study Level 5 or 7, or a registered nurse)
- Strong computer literacy – especially Excel, Word, and email
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel 80+ miles per day as needed
- Comfortable staying away from home during the working week
- Living within 30 miles or 60 minutes of the Support Hub in Sleaford
Preferred:
- 3+ years as a Deputy Manager in the elderly care sector; or
- 1+ year in a compliance role across a group of homes
