Our client, a well-established and welcoming nursing home, is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Person to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for elderly residents, visitors, and staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the nursing home, ensuring the building, grounds, and equipment are kept in excellent working order. The role requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the nursing home.
- Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general handyman duties.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times.
- Maintain the safety, comfort, and appearance of the home for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Liaise professionally with colleagues, contractors, and residents when required.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman, or building services role.
- Competence in basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general repairs.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills with a friendly and respectful manner, particularly when interacting with elderly residents.
- Full UK driving licence.
