The predicted salary is between 12 - 14 £ per hour.
You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality childcare and education, ensuring that all children feel safe, happy and secure. Working closely with the wider team, you will support children's daily routines and help create a positive, nurturing environment.
The position is for 20 hours per week, all year round, worked either 10.30am to 2.30pm, or 11-3. The hourly rate is from £12.21-£14.00.
Key Responsibilities- Support the wellbeing, safety and development of all children in your care
- Minimise risks and help prevent avoidable accidents
- Meet the individual needs of children to support their learning and development
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Follow all policies and procedures at all times
- Supporting Children's Daily Routines
- Provide continuity of care during staff lunch periods
- Support smooth transitions between activities, mealtimes and sleep times
- Assist children during mealtimes, including feeding or encouraging independent self-feeding as appropriate
- Sit with children at mealtimes to create a relaxed, social environment and support communication and learning
- Support children during sleep and rest times, ensuring they feel safe and secure
- Engage children who are not sleeping in stimulating, age-appropriate activities
- Record details of sleep times, meals, nappy changes and toileting
- Observe children's play and development and share observations with their Key Person
- Support children to feel comfortable and secure, particularly those new to the setting or during transitions
- Encourage good personal hygiene
- Ensure children's belongings and information are prepared for collection
- Share relevant information with parents at drop-off and collection times
- Be welcoming and approachable to all families, directing queries appropriately
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records for each child
- Ensure registers and daily sign-in sheets are completed correctly
- Share observations and activity information with room staff before leaving your shift
- Attend and participate in staff and room meetings
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Support children with handwashing and personal hygiene
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including cleaning surfaces and equipment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments
- Report accidents, incidents, or damaged equipment promptly
- Take part in fire drills and emergency procedures
- A warm, patient and caring approach to working with children
- Good communication and teamwork skills
