  • Description
  • About Xe

Xe is a cross‑border payments platform.

We help SMEs and consumers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand collect, convert, hold, and send money across markets.

Each year, over 300 million people use Xe for currency information and over 350 000 use us to send money overseas.

Today, we’re rebuilding the platform layer behind cross‑border payments for corporate and consumer clients.

We’re small enough that your code ships fast and your decisions matter, and Euronet Worldwide (Nasdaq: EEFT) backs us so the problems stay real‑scale.

About This Role

We’re hiring a QA Architect who sets the test and quality architecture Xe’s squads build on, from automation frameworks and quality gates through to the standards and tooling that keep releases safe across the business.

You already use AI as part of how you think, build, test, and ship, and shape how the QA discipline does the same.

You’ll act as the senior technical authority for testing and quality across squads: designing the automation frameworks, quality gates, and test infrastructure engineering teams build on, and raising the bar for how Xe assures the systems that move money in production.

You’ll review the test strategies and automation that QA engineers produce and coach them on craft, setting the quality standards the discipline works to.

You sit in Tech Enablers and operate across the whole business, partnering with QA and engineering leadership on direction while staying hands‑on with the architecture and the craft.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Own the test and quality architecture across squads: automation frameworks, quality gates, test data strategy, and the test infrastructure engineering teams build on.
  • Set the standards for how Xe tests, from functional and non‑functional coverage to performance, load, resilience, reliability, and security.
  • Review the test strategies and automation other QA engineers build, and coach them on craft and technical decisions.
  • Set the direction for how QA adopts AI: agentic coding tools and AI test tools, and how the discipline uses them well.
  • Partner with architects, team leads, and engineering on quality for the hardest cross‑cutting problems, and lead modernization of the test estate as the platform evolves.
  • Investigate the toughest production‑quality issues and turn them into standards, tooling, and prevention across teams.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Must‑have
  • 8 to 10+ years in QA and test engineering, including time as the senior technical authority for quality on complex systems.
  • Deep test automation expertise across Java Script, Type Script, Python, or C#, including framework design, test architecture, and system design.
  • Strong grasp of functional and non‑functional testing, including hands‑on performance, load, and resilience testing (k6, JMeter, or equivalent).
  • Track record designing test architecture and quality strategy adopted across multiple teams.
  • API testing (Postman, Bruno, or equivalent) and UI automation (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent), with the judgment to set the right balance of manual and automated testing.
  • Disciplined defect management and quality measurement: reproduction, prioritization, SLOs, and quality signals.
  • CI/CD and release‑gating ownership (Git Hub Actions or equivalent), and production experience with AWS in a development or test context.
  • Daily use of agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) and AI test tools, with a clear point of view on how a QA discipline should adopt AI.
  • Experience reviewing other QA engineers’ test work and coaching them on craft.
  • Payments, FX, or regulated‑industry experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to align engineering and leadership on quality.
  • Nice‑to‑have
  • Experience introducing new test frameworks or quality tooling adopted at scale.
  • Experience with contract testing for partner integrations (Pact or equivalent).
  • Experience testing Windows client applications.
  • Mobile app test automation.
  • Experience mentoring QA engineers and growing test capability across teams.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary & Discretionary Bonus
  • 23 days annual leave increasing with service (capped at 28 days)
  • Paid day off for your Birthday
  • 4% employer pension contribution
  • Discounted Euronet ESPP
  • Life Cover, Income Protection & Critical Illness cover
  • Healthcare
  • Plumm Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Volunteering day for a charity of your choice
