HGV Mechanic – Birtley, Tyne & Wear
We require someone who is reliable, flexible, and prepared to work hard and able to communicate on a good level with a positive attitude to Health & Safety.
This is a full-time position based in the Birtley workshop.

Requirements
- Must hold a formal qualification – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Heavy plant experience will also be considered
- HGV mechanical experience is a must
- A Class 1 (C+E) licence would be preferable but not essential
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks
- Ideally have experience working on Mercedes, Renault & Scania
- Ideally have experience working with hydraulic systems
- Full driving licence
Responsibilities
- Carry out general mechanical planned and corrective maintenance
- Prepare vehicles for MOT
- Carry out diagnostic fault identification and rectification repair
- Assist with apprenticeship training
