We are seeking a skilled GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control) Developer/Algorithm Engineer to support the development of autonomous navigation capabilities for rover platforms. The role focuses on designing, validating, and integrating advanced algorithms that enable intelligent, on-board decision-making in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Algorithm Development
- Design and develop advanced GNC algorithms for autonomous rover navigation
- Implement capabilities to enable real-time, on-board decision-making and autonomy
- Ensure robustness and reliability of algorithms for operation in complex terrains
- Simulation & Prototyping
- Develop and maintain numerical simulation models to validate algorithm performance
- Integrate GNC algorithms with rover sensor systems and hardware interfaces
- Support rapid prototyping activities using Robot Operating System (ROS 2)
- Testing & Validation
- Validate algorithm performance within custom simulation environments
- Conduct hands-on testing on full-scale prototype rovers, including:
- Indoor testing in controlled environments
- Outdoor field trials in realistic terrain
- Analyse test results and iterate on algorithm performance
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Must have a strong background in robotics, control systems, or autonomous systems
- Must have experience with ROS / ROS 2
- Proficiency in simulation tools and algorithm development (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB)
- Experience working with sensor integration (e.g., LiDAR, IMU, cameras)
- Familiarity with field testing and real-world system validation
