This consultant role spans the full manufacturing data chain within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform — from Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) through to Bill of Process (BOP) and Virtual Build. The consultant translates engineering-authored product structures into manufacturing-ready BOM and process structures, links parts to the processes and resources used to build them, and enables process validation ahead of physical vehicle builds. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing engineering, and IT, and is accountable for ensuring MBOM and BOP design decisions support vehicle programme milestones, within the constraints of a public cloud SaaS deployment of 3DEXPERIENCE.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configuration of Manufacturing BOM structures within 3DEXPERIENCE, ensuring alignment with engineering BOM (EBOM) and downstream manufacturing process requirements.
- Define EBOM-MBOM derivation as a configured product structure, lifecycle states, and collaboration boundaries within the People & Organization (PnO) model.
- Design and configuration of Bill of Process (BOP) structures within DELMIA, including process flows, operations, work instructions, and station-level sequencing.
- Configure Make-Buy objects linking Manufacturing BOM parts to the processes and resources used to build them, including tooling, fixtures, and station/line definitions.
- Define and configure Virtual Build capability to support manufacturing process validation ahead of physical prototype and pre-production vehicle builds.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering stakeholders to understand and capture plant and line-specific processes in an automotive OEM environment.
- Define change impact analysis (EBOM to MBOM to BOP); support Change Action and Change Order processes affecting MBOM and BOP structures.
- Produce clear, customer-facing functional specifications and configuration documentation across MBOM and BOP solution elements.
- Collaborate with the wider architecture and delivery team to validate design decisions against vehicle programme milestones.
Essential Experience
- Hands-on experience configuring Manufacturing BOM and/or Bill of Process / Virtual Build capability within DELMIA on 3DEXPERIENCE, ideally within an automotive OEM environment.
- Strong understanding of Product structure definition, Configured EBOM-to-MBOM derivation linking manufacturing parts to processes and resources.
- Good understanding of product development & manufacturing processes and related data constructs.
- Good Understanding of 3DEXPERIENCE architecture and fundamentals — how DELMIA, ENOVIA, and CATIA fit together across EBOM, MBOM, BOP, and CAD authoring to form a coherent end-to-end solution.
- Practical understanding of the 3DEXPERIENCE PnO (People & Organisation) model.
- Prior exposure to automotive OEM environments is advantageous but not essential.
Candidate Profile
- Solution-oriented, confident of engaging engineering and manufacturing stakeholders directly to translate requirements into platform configuration.
- Clear communicator able to bridge engineering, manufacturing, and IT/architecture audiences without losing technical precision.
- Comfortable operating in a milestone-driven programme environment, balancing pace of delivery against rigour of design.
- Pragmatic — able to weigh out-of-the-box platform capability against bespoke requirements and articulate trade-offs clearly.
- Able to work both independently on a defined work package and collaborate within across cross-functional delivery and architecture teams while applying 3DEXPERIENCE recommended solution principles and best practices.
- Relevant 3DEXPERIENCE / DELMIA certifications are desirable.
