We are currently looking for a Junior .NET Developer to join us here at XCM. The role is remote with initial meetings and training with the CTO in Newcastle.
The key skills and attributes we are looking for are:
- 2-3 years experience with .NET, C# and SQL (some of this may be from University projects)

Primary Purpose
Use a range of technologies particularly C# .NET and SQL to provide data integration solutions for Horizon clients. Contribute production quality integrations which will be offered as part of core capabilities of the Horizon product, including integrations with well-known platforms. Build and implement point-solutions for specific client data integration requirements. Oversee the entire end-to-end process of building new integrations from envisaging through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
In support of the primary purpose, key tasks will also include the following:
- Integration investigation and proof of concept work, including building integration prototypes
- Contributing towards technical briefing processes
- Development of unit tests
- Backend database development
- Frontend development as skills permit
- Participation in team meetings and supporting colleagues and co-workers
- Estimation of work
You will have the opportunity to contribute towards externally published SDKs for use by third party developers, including producing documentation and related materials for others to follow. You will deal with a broad stack of cutting edge technology and gain invaluable experience with building robust processes for handling data in very large volumes.
Experience & Qualities
The ideal candidate is broadly based and would have an interest in front-end as well as back-end development, with an emphasis on back-end. Experience with the Microsoft .NET stack (primarily C# and particularly .NET Core). Good knowledge of database architecture and comfortable with SQL. Highly IT literate generally and a good problem solver. Keen to learn new subjects and keen to keep up to date with new technology. A working knowledge of JavaScript and of web technologies including Webhooks, REST, Cookies and similar is an advantage.
