This is a senior leadership role that will be the second in command to the CTO, responsible for the day-to-day management of IT and development functions across the Group. The successful candidate will also contribute significantly to the strategic direction of technology, act as a bridge between IT and the business, and play a key role in succession planning for the CTO role.
You will oversee the daily operations of IT and development functions across the Group companies:
- Provide line management, mentorship, and support to team leads and developers.
- Ensure consistent performance management, career development, and skills growth across the teams.
- Act as the senior escalation point for IT and development issues.
- Lead, influence and develop the IT teams across several businesses.
Our ideal candidate will have held a similar Head of IT role in a logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or related technology-led industry (strongly preferred). Understanding of the operational realities of logistics businesses and their IT needs is essential.
Using your insight and experience to shape the way forward, creating innovation and out-performing our clients' competitors is crucial. You should have a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cloud platforms together with a strong background in software development and delivery practices.
Familiarity with modern development frameworks, DevOps, and agile methodologies is required. Adaptability to thrive within a complex business is important.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary. You should be confident and articulate, commanding respect through knowledge, experience, and personal style, with a passion for achieving the best that you can.
Thriving under pressure, you will be capable of managing multiple priorities and working to critical deadlines and objectives. You will demonstrate a passion for success and be prepared to invest the time and effort to achieve our client's ambitions.
