We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients busy operations team. In this role, you’ll be a key player in maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment. From reactive repairs to preventative maintenance and process improvements, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our machinery runs smoothly and efficiently. This position also involves occasional electrical installations for new machinery or process upgrades.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform both scheduled and unplanned maintenance across a variety of machinery, including automated transport, extrusion, filling, and bulk handling systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults involving motors, sensors, control panels, and conveyors.
  • Lead the implementation of a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Accurately log maintenance activities, faults, and fixes using CMMS (Sage).
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns promptly to support production continuity.
  • Work in partnership with the production team to fine-tune machinery and optimise performance.
  • Monitor equipment for safety compliance and suggest improvements in line with PUWER regulations.
  • Carry out safety assessments on plant and machinery, recommending practical improvements where necessary.
  • Contribute to engineering development projects and support implementation of new production processes.
  • Participate in root cause investigations to eliminate repeat issues and enhance plant reliability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification – HNC or equivalent.
  • BS7671 18th Edition (Essential)
  • C&G 2391, 2394, or 2395 (Inspection & Testing) – preferred but not essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Understanding of PUWER and safe working practices.
  • IPAF/PASMA (3A and 3B categories) certification is beneficial.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving approach using methods like root cause analysis or 5 Whys.
