We are seeking two experienced SC Cleared PostgreSQL DBAs to support a cloud-managed operational database environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring database availability, performance, and operational stability within an AWS-hosted PostgreSQL platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, outcome-focused DBA support for a cloud-managed PostgreSQL operational database.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of the AWS PostgreSQL database environment.
  • Monitor database health and identify early indicators of performance degradation before business impact occurs.
  • Monitor schemas and transient tables, identifying and performing housekeeping and cleanup activities where required.
  • Optimise database performance and help prevent the accumulation of technical debt.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate risks and issues to minimise operational impact.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of database performance, operational status, and any emerging concerns.
  • Communicate data delays, performance issues, and service impacts to key stakeholders in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience within AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience managing and supporting production operational databases.
  • Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise database performance.
  • Experience with database maintenance, housekeeping, and capacity management.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
