We are seeking two experienced SC Cleared PostgreSQL DBAs to support a cloud-managed operational database environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring database availability, performance, and operational stability within an AWS-hosted PostgreSQL platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, outcome-focused DBA support for a cloud-managed PostgreSQL operational database.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of the AWS PostgreSQL database environment.
- Monitor database health and identify early indicators of performance degradation before business impact occurs.
- Monitor schemas and transient tables, identifying and performing housekeeping and cleanup activities where required.
- Optimise database performance and help prevent the accumulation of technical debt.
- Proactively identify, manage, and communicate risks and issues to minimise operational impact.
- Keep stakeholders informed of database performance, operational status, and any emerging concerns.
- Communicate data delays, performance issues, and service impacts to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience within AWS cloud environments.
- Experience managing and supporting production operational databases.
- Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise database performance.
- Experience with database maintenance, housekeeping, and capacity management.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
