This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AI researcher to join a multidisciplinary innovation lab focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence, decentralised systems, and human-centric design. You’ll take the lead on applied research projects, building out proof-of-concept applications and AI-driven prototypes that are envisioned to power future global products and platforms.
Working in an environment where academia meets industry, you’ll be expected to guide the technical direction of AI initiatives, manage collaborative research efforts, and bridge the gap between emerging technologies and real-world applications. Requirements- A proven track record of managing cross-functional research projects, ideally involving collaboration with both internal and external partners.
- In-depth expertise in AI and machine learning approaches, with awareness of current developments and future trends.
- A relevant academic background e.g. typically a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, AI, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications such as a PhD or Master’s are a plus).
- Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including non-specialists.
- Solid understanding of how to adapt ML techniques to specific industry challenges and business-driven problems.
- Strong programming and prototyping skills, especially useful when building demonstrators or PoCs to validate research outputs.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to operate autonomously while contributing to a broader team mission.
- Confident in engaging with stakeholders, managing expectations, and driving projects through to delivery.
- Ideally, experience applying AI in a commercial or customer-focused environment.
- Hands-on knowledge in areas such as signal processing, reinforcement learning, neural network training, or multi-agent systems.
- Familiarity with research publishing processes and participation in academic or industry conferences.
- Leading research initiatives that explore the practical application of AI within decentralised and connected systems.
- Designing and developing prototype tools or applications that demonstrate how AI can be embedded in next-generation products and services.
- Collaborating with internal teams to integrate AI capabilities into broader technical concepts and cross-domain research.
- Communicating findings and methodologies effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
- Keeping current with AI advancements, feeding new ideas and trends into ongoing project discussions and strategy.
- Identifying and proposing new project opportunities based on technology trends and market relevance.
- Representing the research lab at industry events, seminars, and workshops both in Europe and globally.
- Supporting the publication of research papers and participating in the wider technical ecosystem.
