Job Description

On-site Support Engineer – 2–3 Days/Week – Chessington, Surrey
Rate: £150–£200 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 6-month initial term, with strong likelihood of a further extension
Location: On-site – Chessington, Surrey (KT9)
Start Date: ASAP
An established global IT services provider is seeking a Level 3 Deskside Support Engineer to provide hands-on, on-site technical support for a well-known international food distribution client based in Chessington, Surrey. The role involves working 2–3 days per week on-site, offering a great balance of flexibility and responsibility.
This is a long-term contract opportunity with a strong potential for extension beyond the initial 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide deskside support for laptops, desktops, and peripherals (printers, monitors, docking stations, etc.)
  • Carry out hardware lifecycle tasks (IMACD – Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose)
  • Troubleshoot software/hardware issues including Windows OS and Microsoft 365 suite
  • Assist with password resets and account access issues
  • Support mobile devices (iPhones)
  • Act as hands-and-eyes for remote teams, including basic network patching and support
  • Support warehouse staff with IT equipment issues
  • Coordinate with third-party network/server vendors when required
  • Issue and manage access badges/fobs
  • Provide basic support for office telephony systems

  • Lenovo / Dell / HP laptops and desktops
  • USB docking stations
  • Sharp multifunction printers
  • iPhones
  • Microsoft 365 (Windows + Office)
  • Extreme Networks access points

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in deskside or onsite IT support (Level 3 equivalent)
  • Confident troubleshooting both hardware and software issues
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and end-user support
  • Strong customer service skills, especially in a professional office or warehouse setting
  • Eligible to work in the UK with no unspent criminal convictions

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a distribution/warehouse environment
  • Familiarity with network patching and supporting remote infrastructure teams
  • Experience liaising with third-party service providers
