We’re hiring a Systems Engineer to support a large-scale, live broadcast and production environment used by one of the UK’s leading news and media organisations.

This is a hands-on operations role focused on fault finding, incident response and preventative maintenance across studios, master control and file-based production systems. You’ll work at the heart of live output, keeping critical services stable and resolving issues quickly and calmly.

It suits someone from a broadcast, media or live production background who enjoys solving problems under pressure and working closely with editorial and technical teams.

  • Diagnose and resolve faults across broadcast and production infrastructure
  • Support studios, MCR and field contribution systems
  • Maintain ingest, editing and production asset workflows
  • Troubleshoot baseband video, audio and IP routing issues
  • Assist with upgrades, rollouts and technical projects
  • Provide clear written handovers between shifts
  • Work a rotating shift pattern, including out-of-hours cover
  • Experience in broadcast TV, radio or multimedia environments
  • Knowledge of nonlinear editing systems
  • Familiarity with broadcast IP routing and distribution
  • Windows, Linux or macOS administration
  • Broadcast graphics workflows
  • Encoding, file transfer and media management
  • LAN and fibre networking
