We’re hiring a Systems Engineer to support a large-scale, live broadcast and production environment used by one of the UK’s leading news and media organisations.
This is a hands-on operations role focused on fault finding, incident response and preventative maintenance across studios, master control and file-based production systems. You’ll work at the heart of live output, keeping critical services stable and resolving issues quickly and calmly.
It suits someone from a broadcast, media or live production background who enjoys solving problems under pressure and working closely with editorial and technical teams.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across broadcast and production infrastructure
- Support studios, MCR and field contribution systems
- Maintain ingest, editing and production asset workflows
- Troubleshoot baseband video, audio and IP routing issues
- Assist with upgrades, rollouts and technical projects
- Provide clear written handovers between shifts
- Work a rotating shift pattern, including out-of-hours cover
Experience in broadcast TV, radio or multimedia environments
Knowledge of nonlinear editing systems
Familiarity with broadcast IP routing and distribution
Windows, Linux or macOS administration
Broadcast graphics workflows
Encoding, file transfer and media management
LAN and fibre networking
