Personal Assistant to the Editor, The World of Interiors
Location: John Adam Street, London WC2N 6HT
Working pattern: Mon-Thurs in office, Friday WFH
Contract: Temporary contractor, 12 Oct - 13 Nov 2026 (about 5 weeks)
IR35: Inside (assessed 24 Sep 2026)

Role summary
Support the Editor of The World of Interiors and keep the Editor's office running in a fast-paced creative environment. The role also supports the Creative Director at Large.
Key responsibilities
- Calendar and gatekeeping: manage a complex diary, prioritise meeting requests, resolve clashes discreetly
- Office management: process expenses, book international and domestic travel, general admin
- Editorial support: documentation, materials and follow-ups for editorial meetings, plus communications on the Editor's behalf
- Events and projects: help coordinate events and special initiatives
- Liaison: main contact for colleagues, external contributors and partners
- Creative Director at Large: diary management, shoot logistics, travel coordination
Requirements
- Previous assistant or executive support experience, ideally in media or publishing
- Strong organisation and time management, able to juggle tasks against deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including a professional phone manner and clear drafting
- Proactive, calm under pressure, adaptable, confident but humble
- High emotional intelligence and discretion with confidential information
- Proficiency in G-Suite and standard office admin tools
What you're looking for Someone with at least 6 months of PA or exec support experience, ideally from publishing, magazines or another creative industry, who can start on 12 October and be in London four days a week. Travel booking, expenses and diary management are the core skills, and being comfortable working for two senior people is a plus. It's a short, fixed-term role, so they want someone who can hit the ground running with little handover.
