About the Role:
Earthstream is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer . In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting electrical installations and control panels to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform quality inspections and electrical testing of control panels
Verify build accuracy and ensure all components meet electrical design specs
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings
Conduct pre-power and functional testing, including PLC I/O and VSDs
Manage calibration of in-house test equipment and maintain testing rigs
Record test results accurately, identify faults, and troubleshoot as needed
Ensure all work aligns with internal and external quality standards
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the service area
Support panel build and wiring when testing is not active
Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives
Provide training to team members within your competency
Travel to customer or external sites as required
Conduct VSD bench repairs (AC & DC drives)
Required Skills & Experience:
Apprenticeship or degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
Recognised electrical/electronic engineering qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on panel wiring experience
Strong understanding of VSDs, PLCs, SCADA/HMI technologies
Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
