Earthstream is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting electrical installations and control panels to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspections and electrical testing of control panels
  • Verify build accuracy and ensure all components meet electrical design specs
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings
  • Conduct pre-power and functional testing, including PLC I/O and VSDs
  • Manage calibration of in-house test equipment and maintain testing rigs
  • Record test results accurately, identify faults, and troubleshoot as needed
  • Ensure all work aligns with internal and external quality standards
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the service area
  • Support panel build and wiring when testing is not active
  • Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide training to team members within your competency
  • Travel to customer or external sites as required
  • Conduct VSD bench repairs (AC & DC drives)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Apprenticeship or degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
  • Recognised electrical/electronic engineering qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on panel wiring experience
  • Strong understanding of VSDs, PLCs, SCADA/HMI technologies
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
