We’re looking for a seasoned AWS Engineer with strong technical leadership skills to join a high-impact project with a global IT services provider, supporting a major UK financial institution on its cloud transformation journey.

This role will see you leading technical delivery, mentoring engineering teams, and shaping migration strategies as services are transitioned from on-premise infrastructure to AWS. You’ll be at the forefront of this transformation, driving hands-on solutions while engaging stakeholders at all levels.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Technically lead teams migrating Linux/Unix-based systems to AWS.
  • Provide consultative guidance on cloud adoption and DevOps best practices.
  • Use infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Puppet) to build scalable, repeatable infrastructure.
  • Collaborate using GitLab and GitHub in a CI/CD environment.
  • Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to define architecture and implementation strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience leading cloud engineering initiatives in AWS environments.
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration and migrations.
  • Expertise in Terraform, Puppet, GitLab, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience working in a consultative or strategic engineering role – e.g. Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, Architect – with the ability to influence and mentor teams.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 6–12 months
  • Location: Remote-first, with occasional (monthly) travel to Bristol required.
  • Travel: No travel expenses will be covered.
  • Engagement: Inside IR35
