IT Support Officer – 9 to 12 Month Contract (Part-Time, Hybrid) Are you a tech-savvy professional with a passion for delivering excellent IT support and user experience? We\’re seeking an IT Support Officer to join a collaborative and dynamic team supporting a cutting-edge clinical research organization.
Contract Length: 9 to 12 months
Working Pattern: Part-time – 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Location: Hybrid – 1 day on-site (Letchworth area), 2 days remote
About the Role This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. You’ll play a critical role in providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to internal users, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and systems, while assisting with onboarding and collaborating with external IT partners.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support to end users, resolving hardware/software issues and access problems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and email setups in Office 365 and Active Directory.
  • Support SharePoint usage and access controls.
  • Perform IT inductions and 1-1 user training sessions.
  • Log, track, and resolve IT incidents, working to SLA and KPI standards.
  • Configure and maintain devices including laptops, printers, and mobile phones (via Intune).
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors for equipment repair and procurement.
  • Keep accurate records of assets, software licenses, and purchase orders.

What We\’re Looking For

  • Solid experience in an IT support role, preferably within a highly regulated or professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, SharePoint, and Windows-based systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Logical thinking and a proactive, service-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader IT function.

Desirable

  • Experience working alongside or managing external IT support vendors.
  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are advantageous but not essential.
