Overview
Reporting to the Head of Finance and Reporting, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to be responsible for the UK entities of this global industrial group. The company is extremely international, has operations across the globe and is a market leader in their sector. This position will be a key hire in the UK finance team working across accounting, tax, controlling, FP&A etc as well as the business in the UK and EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting and reporting activities for the UK business
- Hands on financial accounting and reporting to US GAAP and IFRS
- Statutory reporting for 50+ UK entities
- Business partner with the business units as well as leadership team, examining financial performance, investigating opportunities for profit enhancement, and recommending actions that promote improved financial results
- Responsible for statutory audit, compliance and internal controls (SOC) working closely with counterparts across EMEA
- Point of contact for external partners including auditors and regulatory bodies
- Supervise junior members of the finance team
- Develop and maintain partner relationships with the leadership team
Requirements
- Educated to degree level in a finance or business related subject
- Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA... (Part qualified will be considered with significant experience)
- Big 4 or practice background preferred
- At least 5-6 years (or 2 years post qual) experience in a dynamic and international environment
- Solid experience in financial accounting and reporting to US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience in compliance, SOX and internal controls
- Experience working across multiple finance departments - tax, audit, controlling, FP&A...
- Self-Starter with a strong work ethic
- Experience working with and supporting senior management required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
