Our client, a well-established specialist education and care provider in the North East, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team supporting young adults with learning and physical disabilities. Working closely with education staff, families and external healthcare professionals, you will help deliver a holistic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver high-quality assessments and interventions that support students in achieving their educational, personal and independent living goals. You will play a key role in embedding therapeutic strategies into everyday learning environments and contributing to a collaborative, student-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, student-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Support young adults with a range of physical, sensory and learning needs.
- Promote participation and engagement in education, daily living and wider life activities.
- Develop individualised therapy programmes tailored to each student's needs.
- Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and ongoing support planning.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, families and external professionals.
- Embed therapeutic approaches into day-to-day educational settings.
- Provide guidance, supervision and support to colleagues where appropriate.
About You
We're looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping young adults achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. You will have:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and/or behaviours that challenge.
- Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.
- A creative, person-centred and proactive approach to therapy.
- A genuine passion for supporting young adults to reach their full potential.
