We have an exciting new opportunity for a full time Consultant ENT Surgeon working for a leading Trust in Northern Ireland, UK. This will be for a 2-year fixed term contract, to work full time (10 programmed activities per week), with the potential to extend, at the second largest hospital in Northern Ireland, with teaching hospital status.

The post holder will be required to provide the highest standard of care and efficient ENT services, and to share in the collective responsibility for the provision of the services for patients within the ENT Surgery Department. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. He/she will be required to provide leadership within their own speciality team and contribute to the development of excellence in clinical practice through research, audit and undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Key Requirements:

  • Full registration with General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practice.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Otolaryngology via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview date), CESR or European Community Rights.
  • Higher Qualifications e.g. MD, PhD or Fellowship would be desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of developments in the Health and Social Services, clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies, knowledge of evidence based approach to clinical care.
  • Ability to lead and engender high standards of care.
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit.
  • Hold a driving licence which is valid for use in UK (International Licence will be valid for 1 year).
