Scrub Nurse – North London \\nUp to £45k + Package\\n\\nWHO ARE THEY? \\nThe client is one of the leading providers of NHS-funded ophthalmology services in England.\\n\\nOur Purpose is to make a difference\\nOur Vision is a society where everyone can get access to free or affordable world class treatment for advanced eye conditions without any unnecessary delay or worry\\nOur Mission is to revolutionise the care and treatment for patients facing the prospect of sight loss by creating a new national network of specialist eye clinics that have a seamless link with all optometrists and GPs\\nROLE SUMMARY \\nTo provide a competent Nurse provision in the services Theatre.\\n\\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES \\nClinical Duties and Responsibilities for Clinics\\n\\nUp to date proficient Scrub skills for high volume cataract surgery.\\nAbility to set up for vitrectomy surgery\\nFull understanding of Phaco Machines/Instrumentation and set up\\nFull knowledge of the eye and understanding of Biometry/Lens bank/Implants\\nAbility to support the surgeon anticipating any potential problems in theatre and resolve them\\nWorking as part of a theatre team\\n Administrative Duties\\n\\nTo keep accurate patient health records, updating electronic patient records or completing handwritten clinical notes.\\n Professional Duties\\n\\nTo work within the requirements of the code of practice and standard of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.\\nTo be responsible for and demonstrate commitment to Continuing Professional Development and Clinical Governance.\\nTo participate in training and development of clinical and other groups of staff.\\nTo participate in clinical audit and research projects, as required.\\n THE INDIVIDUAL \\nEDUCATION & QUALIFICATION\\n\\nNursing degree or equivalent qualification essential.\\nEXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE\\n\\nTheatre training /substantive experience required.\\nCurrent registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council essential.\\nHospital eye service experience desirable\\nKnowledge of clinical practice and demonstrable knowledge of developments in Optometry required.\\nExperience of and commitment to medical audit.\\nComfortable with Microsoft Office products and using computerised systems for data input/output and review.\\nSKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES\\n\\nEnjoys the routine and rhythm of a process driven environment.\\nAbility to work in different theatre environments adapting to different surgeons\\nAble to balance working independently with appropriate escalation and delegation.\\nCommitted to deliver consistently high standards of care to patients.\\nSeeks continuous professional development.\\nSelf-motivated to provide an excellent level of communication and individual care for patients.\\nComfortable making a significant contribution, including teaching and training, in a small multi-disciplinary team.\\nSUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION COMMON TO ALL ROLES \\nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES\\n\\nActively promote and market the business and present a positive image of the Company and its activities both within and outside the Healthcare environment.\\nEnsure the quality standards and performance measures applying to the work of the section are met and facilitate continuous improvements in all aspects of the post.\\nUndergo any self-development and training as necessary for success in the role and provide support and development for others where appropriate.\\nCarry out any duties at all times in accordance with the Company's policies including Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety.\\nPromote by positive example both internally and externally, the purpose and vision of the business.\\nUndertake all responsibilities in adherence with the business' Policies and Protocols for Infection, Prevention and Control.\\nUndertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post, which the Principal or their senior management representative may from time to time require.\\n@INDALEX
