Hours: Full Time (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Salary: Up to £60000 (Role open to Band 5, 6 and 7 applicants)

Our client, a specialist further education provider, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary therapy team. This rewarding role involves supporting young adults aged 19-25 with a range of complex learning and communication needs, including severe and profound learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping learners develop effective communication skills and maximise their independence and participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Develop and implement personalised communication programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with education, therapy and support staff to embed communication strategies across the curriculum.
  • Provide advice, training and guidance to colleagues and families where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.
  • Support the ongoing development of the therapy service.

About You

  • A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and relevant professional registration.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working within a specialist educational or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting individuals with severe learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism and complex communication needs.
  • A basic understanding of dysphagia management and appropriate referral pathways.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and collaborative working skills.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young adults with additional needs.
