Event Sous Chef - Private Members Club

£40,000 + Tronc

Monday - Friday (Occasional Saturday)

The Role:

As Events Sous Chef, you'll play a vital role in leading the culinary execution of events ranging from 50 to 100 guests, from stylish standing canapé receptions and bowl food service, to intimate 3-course sit-down dinners. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail, creativity, and precision will shine.

You'll work closely with the Head Chef and Events Managers to ensure each event is delivered to the highest standard, with menus that showcase bold flavours, creative flair, and impeccable presentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading kitchen operations during events service
  • Designing and contributing to bespoke event menus
  • Calculating accurate portion sizes based on guest numbers
  • Overseeing ordering, stock control, and supplier invoices
  • Managing staff rotas and assisting in team leadership
  • Holding meetings with Events Managers to align on upcoming functions
  • Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards at all times

You:

  • Proven experience in event catering - ideally within a private members' club, hotel, or events venue
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team calmly under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of portioning and cost control
  • A creative mindset with a passion for producing bold, memorable flavours
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Understanding of kitchen management tasks including ordering, invoicing, and scheduling
