Registered Nurse – Children and Young Adults with Autism

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist provider supporting children and young adults with autism and complex needs for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join their clinical team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by delivering high‑quality nursing care within a specialist education and residential setting, supporting young people with a range of complex medical and health needs.

Please note: a full UK driving licence is essential due to the location of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person‑centred nursing care to children and young adults with autism and associated complex health conditions.
  • Promote health, wellbeing and independence while supporting a safe, therapeutic and autism‑informed environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver high‑quality nursing care tailored to individual health needs, including supporting complex medical conditions such as epilepsy, gastrostomy care and wound management.
  • Monitor, assess and respond to changing clinical needs.
  • Collaborate with education, care and therapy teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Build positive relationships with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Deliver training, guidance and clinical support to colleagues where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Promote best practice in safeguarding, health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RNLD, RGN, RMN or RSCN) with current NMC registration.
  • Experience supporting children or young adults with complex health needs.
  • Experience providing training, mentoring or clinical guidance to colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and clinical assessment skills.
  • A compassionate, proactive and person‑centred approach to care.
