Xairos is building a quantum-enabled Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) system using patented Quantum Time Transfer (QTT) technology, delivering sub nanosecond timing accuracy and resilience against GPS jamming or spoofing.

The company is part of high-profile initiatives such as the ESA NAVISP programme and development of national Quantum PNT Testbeds.

Xairos is entering a high‑growth stage as it looks to deploy its Quantum Time Transfer technology, for which the World Economic Forum has identified Xairos as a Top Innovator in quantum.

Role Overview

Xairos UK is seeking a Software Engineer to help deliver the deployment of its Quantum Time Transfer technology.

In particular, you will help develop a fibre QTT product as well as help outline future quantum satellite missions.

You will be responsible for helping deploy our QTT capability in the real world, refining algorithms into software features and advancing in‑house simulator tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain software using both high‑level and low‑level programming languages.
  • Write system‑level code to optimise performance and interact directly with hardware when required.
  • Develop automation software for test and validation of optical and timing systems.
  • Develop high‑level applications to support post‑processing and algorithm deployment.
  • Liaise with UK and Europe industrial and academic partners, and Xairos HQ in Lafayette, Colorado and Xairos team in Delft, Netherlands to deliver integrated solutions.
