Our goal is to foster a workplace where diverse talents thrive.
About the Role:
The XPS Insurance Consulting team works with insurers, reinsurers and financial services clients, providing actuarial and technical support across reserving, capital, risk and financial reporting. We are increasingly focused on developing data-driven and automated solutions that improve insight, efficiency and decision-making.
We combine strong technical capability with practical, commercially focused advice, helping clients navigate regulatory change and operational challenges through analytics and technology-enabled solutions.
As a Platform Engineer, you will build and operate secure, reliable cloud platforms for XPS and its clients, enabling repeatable delivery through infrastructure as code, DevOps and automation. - Provision and maintain reusable Azure and AWS infrastructure as code for XPS and clients.
- Build and improve CI/CD with testing, release controls, environment promotion and rollback.
- Own platform delivery from requirements and design to implementation, release and handover.
- Implement networking, connectivity, identity, secure access and secrets management; monitor platforms and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain tests, documentation and runbooks; improve delivery through effective, efficient and responsible use of approved AI tools.
Your Profile:
Essential:
- Financial services industry experience, with sound security, confidentiality and controlled-change practices.
- Hands-on Azure and AWS experience includes networking, connectivity, identity and security.
- Infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or equivalent including automated testing (e.g. Terratest, Checkov, policy-as-code); scripting in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
- CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or equivalent: build, test and deployment pipelines, Git peer review, release approvals, environment promotion and rollback.
- Secure access and secrets management, monitoring and troubleshooting; able to own delivery and manage changing client priorities.
- A recognised, relevant Azure or AWS cloud certification is essential; certification in either cloud is sufficient.
- Effective, efficient use of AI engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Codex or Claude Code; not all required).
Desirable:
- Insurance industry experience.
- Consulting experience.
- Experience with containers, full stack app development.
- A relevant computing degree.
