A central government client is looking for an experienced Virtualisation Engineer to join an established infrastructure team in Nottingham. This is a long-standing programme, so it is a genuinely stable, long-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension (6-12 months beyond March 2027). You will be project-focused, building and maintaining the virtualisation estate, with some BAU and technical support as required. You will need to be hands-on and confident owning the platform end to end.
Essential:
- Expert-level VMware vSphere, ESXi and Horizon VDI (build, upgrade, management)
- Windows Server 2012(R2), 2016 and 2019
- HPE Servers and data centre management
- Active Directory and core networking
- Comfortable joining an on-call rota (1 week in 4)
Desirable:
- SCCM, Synergy
Essential please read:
- Active SC Clearance. We need it current and transferable; unfortunately, recently lapsed clearance won't work for this one.
- Able to work on site in Nottingham 5 days a week.

- Start date ideally early July (some flex to allow SC transfer).
