Want to be the go-to person for a school’s entire tech setup – networks, AV, CCTV and everything in between? Xact are recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded school in Cirencester, currently going through an exciting IT modernisation programme. They’re looking for an IT Technician to join their IT team and play a key role in developing and maintaining systems that support staff and students day to day. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Main Duties of the Role
- Providing technical support across IT, telecoms, AV equipment and stage lighting/controllers
- Installing, maintaining and repairing IT/AV equipment, including operating systems and software
- Managing network access rights, including setting up and archiving user accounts
- Supporting AV and IT for assemblies, meetings, presentations and events (occasional out-of-hours work, with time off in lieu or claims pay)
- Assisting with CCTV and access control system maintenance and installation
- Carrying out daily and monthly backup routines
- Managing stock, consumables and equipment loans
- Getting involved in an upcoming transition to Google Workspace
Your Skills & Experience
- IT support experience, ideally with some exposure to an education environment
- Good working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Office 365 and common applications
- A positive, can-do approach to problem solving and improving user experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft networks or educational software is an advantage
Salary: £25,000 – £26,750 per annum
