Technical Project Manager Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the implementation of an Information Security capability using Microsoft Purview within a Microsoft 365 (M365) environment for a UK Defence client. The role will cover both delivery of security tooling and the associated service wrap, including governance, assurance, and user adoption. You will manage a small multidisciplinary technical team and engage closely with client stakeholders to ensure the solution meets operational and compliance requirements within a MOD environment.
Technical Project Manager Role:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of an information security capability using Microsoft Purview tools within M365
- Manage and support a small delivery team
- Plan and coordinate technical implementation, testing, and transition into service
- Navigate and support client security, assurance, and accreditation processes
- Act as primary point of contact for client stakeholders and suppliers
- Ensure solution aligns with user needs, compliance obligations, and operational constraints
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery milestones
- Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and delivery status to senior stakeholders
- Support development of operating model and service processes around the tooling
Technical Project Manager Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager delivering security or compliance-focused technology solutions
- Strong understanding of information security management principles
- Experience delivering projects within M365 environments
- Experience working with regulated or secure government environments
