A fast-growing commodity trading house that is making a strategic shift towards power trading is offering the opportunity for an experienced Power Trading Business Analyst to support their transformations. This is a high-impact role sitting close to the front office, where you will play a key part in shaping new processes, systems and operating models as the business scales its power trading capability. You’ll be involved across multiple change initiatives, working with traders, risk, operations and technology to ensure systems and workflows are fit for purpose in a modern power trading environment.

As a trusted partner to the business, you will gather and translate complex front-office requirements into clear functional specifications, support the delivery of new trading and risk platforms, and help optimise the end-to-end trade lifecycle as volumes and product complexity increase.

Key responsibilities
  • Working closely with power traders and commercial teams to understand current and future trading requirements
  • Leading business analysis across multiple transformation and system change projects
  • Defining and documenting business processes, functional requirements and target operating models
  • Acting as a bridge between front office, risk, operations and technology teams
  • Supporting the implementation and enhancement of trading, risk, scheduling and reporting systems
  • Ensuring solutions are aligned with regulatory, risk and control requirements
Key requirements
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within commodity trading, ideally with strong exposure to power markets and PPA experience being preferred
  • Solid understanding of the power trading lifecycle, including trading, scheduling, risk and settlement
  • Experience working on system implementations or transformation programmes in a trading environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate confidently with front-office users
  • Excellent documentation, communication and problem-solving skills

This is a Hybrid role (3d/w in London) with a salary range around £120-140k (depending on experience). Wider package includes bonus, pension, healthcare, wellness pack, etc.
